3.1

Remove the vacuum gauge from the vacuum chamber.

3.2

Unscrew the bolts to expose the anode assembly.

3.3

Gently lift the anode assembly upwards to separate it from the body.

3.4

Remove the copper gasket from the vacuum gauge.

3.5

Check the knife-edge on both the anode and the body to make sure they are in good condition.

3.6

Gently remove any contaminants from the anode using a scouring pad.

For the 7FCS, be careful not to damage the starting aid.

3.7

Blast the body with glass beads.

3.8

After cleaning, blow out any residual glass beads or dust with dry nitrogen.

3.9

Install a new copper gasket in the body.

3.10

Reinsert the anode assembly into the body.

3.11

Tighten the bolts gradually, moving from bolt to bolt to ensure uniform compression of the gasket.

3.12

Reinstall on the vacuum chamber.

3.13

Allow several hours for the tube to degas when pumped down to high vacuum.

3.14

If properly cleaned and assembled, the gauge tube is ready for use without recalibration unless NIST traceable or ISO 17025 accredited calibration is required.
