There’s no denying it: cleaning and calibrating active gauges can be frustrating.

And it can be especially aggravating for heat treaters because vacuum furnaces aren’t exactly clean-room conditions and your vacuum instrumentation requires more frequent cleaning. The biggest problem with most active gauges (sometimes referred to as vacuum transmitters or active sensors) is that you need to replace the whole gauge head or send it in for repair when contamination occurs.
